Help for Stress and Overwhelm
In 2021, 74% of adults in the UK reported feeling so stressed that they felt overwhelmed and unable to cope.
Is this you?
Our 21st century lifestyles exposes us on a daily basis to levels of stress which have never been experienced before.
This continual drip, drip, drip of stressful situations - without the opportunity to recover in between times - can lead to overwhelming levels of stress. And, living with overwhelm and stress can become our new normal.
Research shows stress and overwhelm can cause tangible harm to the brain and the body, which is both long-lasting and life-changing.
Overwhelming stress directly impacts on the cognitive functioning of the brain. It causes brain fog, mental slowness (or conversely a racing mind), difficulty in thinking logically, concentrating and focussing. It leads to poor decision making and causes us to doubt ourselves, our ability and our self worth.
It impacts on our ability to function well socially, and so we become increasingly moody, irritable, distant and isolated.
And, it takes its toll on our physical wellbeing, resulting in headaches, gastro-intestinal and digestive problems, muscle pain, high blood pressure, a weakened immune system and fatigue.

Help for Stress and Overwhelm is a 4 session programme, rooted into the principles and practices of yoga and working with the whole person, not just what’s wrong. Throughout the programme we use breath practices, mindfulness and meditation, yoga postures, and deep relaxation techniques to:
develop self-management skills to be better able to cope with stress on a day-by-day basis
create and maintain healthy boundaries
learn to prioritise and plan what’s possible, allocating the body’s resources well
identify potential stressors and develop skills to manage them
feel more confident about how the body is, and what is possible each day
improve cognitive brain function
so that the overall quality of your life improves, and you can cope better with the day to day.
If you have struggled with stress and overwhelm for long enough, let’s talk
What my clients are saying:
‘Gail has a very rare, gentle, deep-reaching magic, which gently unfolds where you’re at before you know it. She listens attentively and asks thoughtful, relevant questions so that the magic works. Then she teaches you how to breathe or move, hold or release and you realise you ‘feel’ different. And it lingers. It seems very long-lasting.‘
